HOW TO PREPARE YOUR HAIR FOR YOUR APPOINTMENT

PLEASE READ THIS IN IT'S ENTIRETY

For us to properly assess your hair for a Custom Curly Cut, please come in with your hair as the following:

100 percent dry hair.
Freshly washed. A day or so old is ok as long as it is not tangled and curl pattern is intact. Please make sure it has not been pulled up or stretched out.
Conditioned and air dried, ideally styled with little to no product.
If your hair takes a long time to dry or you cannot come with it with zero product, you can come with it with light product and washed no more than two days before.

For follow up appointments, you may come in with it a day or two old or on your favorite day as long as it isn't tangled.

COMMONLY ASKED QUESTIONS FOR HAIR PREP

Q: Can I put up my hair?

A: Please avoid putting your hair up as this can stretch the curl and give an inaccurate assessment of the curl pattern. If you must put it up, please make sure it is as loose as possible as to not affect the curl.

Q: My hair is really thick and won’t dry in time, can I do this the night before?

A: Yes, I understand that if your hair takes a long time to dry you can do this the night before. Please make sure it is dry before you go to be bed and are mindful of how you put it up to sleep. Thank you :)

Q: Will you still be shampooing my hair at my appointment? If so, why do I need to come in with it clean?

A: Yes, we will be shampooing and conditioning during your appointment. This preparation is so we can most accurately read your curl pattern to give you the best end result possible. Especially if the stylists choice of technique includes dry cutting.

Q: I have work in the morning and cannot go without any product in my hair is it ok to put some in?

A:Yes, you can put in a light-weight leave in conditioner or gel. Please try to avoid diffusing as we want to be able to see exact the variance of curl pattern in your hair. You can style it the night before if necessary.

Additional appointment information:

Please come with a list of current shampoo, conditioner and styling products that you use.
Come with any and all questions and ready to learn!
Please wear a mask if you are under the weather.
